It is reported that a gas pipe Vojany will be fully operational in September to transmit gas from EU to Ukraine.
Thomas Marecek, the chairman of Eustrem showed that gas pipe Vojany originated from Slovakia was planned to supply 10 billion cubic meters gas to Ukraine annually before 2019.
The gas pipe is estimated that will transmit from 8 trillion cubic meters to 10 trillion cubic meter gas at the first quarter of 2015 at the latest. The gas pipe is estimated to transmit gas to Ukraine in September this year.
Marecek also said that gas pipe Vojany would not supply gas to Ukraine in September if Russia cut off gas to EU. The gas pipe will transmit 6.5 trillion cubic meters gas steadily every year from the early of October this year.
On April 1st, Russia announced to highly increase prices of gas supplying to Ukraine because Ukraine did not repay debt on time. Then EU considered supplying gas to Ukraine through gas pipe between Slovakia and Ukraine. On April 28th, European Commission announced that Slovakia and Ukraine had reached an agreement about transmitting gas. Slovakia will supply gas to Ukraine in this autumn at the earliest, reducing energy dependency of Ukraine on Russia.
